Merkur HD 34C Double Edge Safety Razor

My old Merkur 34C finally broke after I dropped it probably a dozen times in the shower. I immediately ordered a new one. Great razor; the standard for high-quality double edge safety razors.

Such a great razor. At first I was a little worried about the handle length but after using it, I found it very comfortable. I have used it with persona and astra platinum blades and it gives a smooth, close, even shave.
Wet shaving has kind of become a hobby for me now and I will be buying many different types of razors in the future but I think I will be trying other Merkur models first.

I don't believe you will find a razor better than this one! It is my third razor and is now my absolute favorite! Some say they find the short handle uncomfortable, I think it enhances the performance of my shaves. I believe it gives me better control!

This is my first, and only DE razor, and it gives great shaves. This razor is how I recently learned how to DE shave, and it was a great choice. With the right blade it shaves smooth and close, yet is very forgiving, not too aggressive. Great for newbies as well as experienced DE shavers. I highly recommend. 5 stars
