  • CELLA, Crema Sapone Extra Extra Purissima - NEW PACKAGING

There is no better test of greatness than “standing the test of time” and Cella Crema Sapone passes with flying colours.  As far as I know, the formula for Cella is virtually unchanged since it's introduction in 1899.   In Italy, you will find many master barbers and experienced wet-shavers that consider Cella to be the greatest shaving soap ever produced and after personally usually Cella dozens of times, I certainly share the same opinion.

Cella comes in two formats, a 150 ml screw-top red “Ciotola” (tub/bowl) and a 1000 ml block in a red cardboard box.  Being a soft soap, pieces can easily be sliced off the block and molded into your favorite shaving bowl or mug.  For those that prefer convenience and travel often, the 150 ml Ciotola is the preferred choice.  Cella is scented of sweet almonds or marzipan.

Cella is first-class in every regard... purest natural ingredients, shave performance, scent and presentation.  You will be hard-pressed to find a better shaving soap any where in the world, at any price!

Ingredients: Cocos Nucifera Oil, Tallow, Stearic Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Hydroxide, Aqua, Potassium Carbonate, Parfum.

Made in Italy, Nicky Chini, S.Giuliano, Milano.

    Works great as advertised

I definitely pick up the cherry aroma that other reviewers mentioned. It reminds me of the cherry blend pipe tobacco my grandfather smoked every day of his 103 years.

Shave wise it performs very well. I’m pretty new to this style of soap and brush so I don’t have a lot to compare it to but overall I am quite pleased. It goes on thick and lathers up well. I will definitely buy it again.

    Fall/Winter soap

Cella is and has been for years my fall/winter soap. Pairs well with gourmand aftershaves like bay rums or anything spicy. Has a mild aroma on the face during the shave, smells like Dr. Pepper tastes, which goes away after you rinse. Excellent performance with a boar bristle brush soaked in hot water and face lathering. Rinses cleanly and doesn't leave a mess in the sink like Proraso.

    Since 1899...I get it!

Had to try the legendary Cella Shave Soap and was pleasantly impressed. The scent is more cherry than almond to me, but all said that was pretty much a non-factor. The lather it produced was really slick, almost like pudding. Had no issues with the soap clogging my razor between rinses and the cushion for my Gillete Black Beauty adjustable set @ 8, 6, then 5, with a fresh Nacet blade gave a really nice BBS shave with zero irritation. Surpassed all expectations and looking forward to my next shave!

    Surprisingly good!

I decided to try this soap because it was reasonably priced....and it was in a red carton...and the guy looked like Santa Claus. (without his hat) Once soaps soar to the "over $20" range, I lose interest.....but an ITALIAN soap--in this price range--I'll definitely give it a try. And I'm glad I did! It has a delicate almond scent; lathers easily; and gave me a great shave! For a $10 soap--what more can you ask for? I rank this easily in my "top-five" favorite soaps....they are the ones I use 90% of the time. Great stuff--you won't be disappointed!

    Full Bodied, and Classic

With a delightful amaretto scent, and thick, slickening lather, Cella Crema Da Barba will not disappoint.
When applied brushless to my day old copper wire, it lathered without a hassle, becoming plush like a whipped cream, and provided such an experience that every wet shaver would appreciate.
