  • RazoRock Switch V2 (Version 2) Double Edge Safety Razor

As much as we love the original version of the RazoRock Switch, many of our customers asked if there was a way to make the head thinner and the razor more nimble. We spoke to our machinist and redesigned the bottom of the base plate. The V2 has more material milled out of the base allowing for the head and the safety bar to be as thin as possible. The RazoRock V2 can now get into the tightest places like under your nose and around your ears when head shaving; it's also easier to use when lining up your beard, goatee, or sideburns.  We also changed the handle to male it more grippy.  The handle can be uses on any of your other Double Edge razors so if you want to try our a 100mm handle before buying one, this would be a perfect one to test.

All of the details below from the original Switch still apply to the Version 2 (V2):

The first of its kind! A razor that can transform from a barber-style straight razor to a traditional safety razor, two razors in one! The RazoRock Switch uses any standard double-edge (DE) blade. Check out the product photos on the left, you will see the two different configurations in which the razor can be used.

The RazoRock Switch razor is CNC milled from corrosion-resistant 6066 aluminum making it lightweight and extremely durable. In addition, the aluminum has been anodized for added protection and corrosion-resistance.

RazoRock uses CNC milling for the Switch razor because it is the most precise way to manufacture a razor. It's important that razors are made to high tolerances so the blade is held perfectly every time. Many of RazoRock's competitors use inferior casting processes to manufacture their razors; we believe RazoRock's milling process is the best in the industry!

Why is the RazoRock Switch so great as a barber-style straight razor? The first reason is cost. The Switch uses a standard double-edge (DE) blade which costs as little as 5 cents per blade, this makes it very economical for barbers that are required to change the blade with each new client. The second reason is the design. The Switch uses a DE blade in the head; this means two blade edges are exposed and the razor can be used in two different directions to cut thus making it very fast and efficient, especially when cleaning the nape area and the neckline.

A professional barbers new best friend! If you are a barber, you already know the value of quality tools. You probably use German or Japanese scissors because you won't comprise the perfect cut, nor should you! Once you use the RazoRock Switch you will wonder how you ever worked without it. The RazoRock Switch is perfect for cleaning up the nape and neckline, it is also a joy to use for beard and head shaves. The RazoRock Switch is easy and safe to use and your clients will marvel at the results! As a barber, The RazoRock Switch will give a clear edge over your competition.

The Switch is also wonderful for shaving body, especially legs, arms, chest, and backs. Many of our women clients have been using the RazoRock Switch to shave their legs in the bath and shower, we have received nothing but compliments and praise on the design!

NOTE: Please do NOT expect perfection with these razors. Although the quality is extremely high, the razor probably will not be absolutely 100% perfect. They are machined and finished to a very high user grade, not a jewel piece, the odd mark or blemish can be expected and there may be very tiny spots of color variations on the anodizing that arise from where the parts are held in the anodizing process.  If you are looking for or expecting jewel quality, this probably isn't the razor for you.

    It's actually a doubt!

I have the old one, I think it's excellent, I have nothing to complain about, and I would like to know if I could buy 2, it's very good, I've never had a problem with the parts of the nose and near the ear or chops, is there a possibility that I can buy the old model?

Please make this in stainless steel if you can..

So this is a more aggressive version of this great and versatile razor.
This one takes time getting used to.
But it's a joy to shave with so long as you respect it.
I'm hoping this will be made in a stainless steel version if they decide to make a V3 switch.

    I'd buy it..
Make it and you'll have my money.

Be mindful of the angle you shave with while using this razor..
Through user error and no fault of the razor,I accidentally cut myself because I did it diagonally in accident, felt it cut..
It was purely my being careless and since then I use this razor with care..

    2nd vote for SS

Haven't purchased this yet -- I second Trevor's vote for all stainless head & handle; I like to save time by getting in an upper body workout while shaving. Experienced with straights, kamisori and shavettes; even if SS proves a disaster it would be a solid heirloom disaster

Fender Sustenance headstock brass weight attached to a straight is a disaster. SS Switch V3 has to be an improvement.

Ultimately, i got a couple of great shave with it already. Giving it 5 stars primarily for that, since that's my biggest need from a razor. A couple of improvements, that are mentioned in the description, and it seems to be slightly more aggressive than V1. However, i had some issues with the head skipping on my face- an issue i almost never have to deal with. Perhaps too much material removed from the head? Not sure. Handle is supposedly an improvement and worked fine for me, but knurling may still be better. Im very familiar with the shavette format of the switch and love the idea and how it shaves. If there is ever a V3, i think it's time to go SS with a knurled handle. I think a little more weight of SS would be the final nail in Razorine's coffin. Still, 2 great shaves already with this!
