RazoRock Lupo DE Safety Razor
The RazoRock Lupo safety razor has an interesting story. Many of our clients were frustrated because there is a very popular safety razor in the marketplace that is almost impossible to obtain. On top of that, these razors were selling for over $500 a pop! A good client then made an interesting proposal. He said to us, "If I send you one of these $500 razors, do you think you can make some under your RazoRock brand and sell them for a lot less than $500?" We hummed and hawed but eventually, we agreed. I received the razor and I shaved with it for a few weeks straight. It was an excellent shaver but had two characteristics I wasn't fond of. First, the DE blade tabs were exposed by a large amount making it easy to nick your ears or your nose. Second, because the head was mirror polished by hand, the tolerances were not the greatest, some area of the razor had been over-polished and the mating of the top cap and base plate were not to my satisfaction. Before producing it, we knew we had to correct these flaws. We decided to round the sides of the head in order to cover the blade tabs but not change the width of the safety bar where it contacts your skin, a nifty little solution. To make these razor accessible to everyone, the first run is CNC milled aluminum which allows us to sell the razor for under thirty bucks!
The RazoRock Lupo safety razor is CNC milled from corrosion-resistant 6066 aluminum making it lightweight and extremely durable. In addition, the aluminum has been anodized for added protection and corrosion-resistance.
RazoRock uses CNC milling for the Lupo safety razor because it is the most precise way to manufacture a razor. It's important that razors are made to high tolerances so the blade is held perfectly every time. Many of RazoRock's competitors use inferior casting processes to manufacture their razors; we believe RazoRock's milling process is the best in the industry!
NOTE: Please do NOT expect perfection with these razors. Although the quality is extremely high, the razor probably will not be absolutely 100% perfect. They are machined and finished to a very high user grade, not a jewel piece, the odd mark or blemish can be expected and there may be very tiny spots of color variations on the anodizing that arise from where the parts are held in the anodizing process. If you are looking for or expecting jewel quality, this probably isn't the razor for you.

A few years ago I decided to give safety razors a try, not wanting to invest too much I order a fairly cheap one off amazon. It did the trick and I enjoyed it, but definitely suffered from nicks and razor burn quite a lot. I'd been debating upgrading for a while, but was never sure if it would make that big of a difference.
BOY does it make a difference.
Night and day. It's incredible the amount of difference small precision changes makes to the entire shaving experience. It takes less time than before, I shave closer than before, and I've yet to nick myself after around 10 shaves.
Definitely was worth the upgrade for me, and I'm proud of the namesake razor!
This was by far my biggest surprise, and I think I like this razor even more than the GC .84SB. I typically appreciate heavier razors and being able to let the razor “do the work”, but was a whole different experience that I wasn’t expecting. It’s crazy light and maneuverable (about 1/4 weight of a stainless steel razor); I likened it to the feel of a happy meal toy when I first picked it up. It’s not mild and has a decent amount of blade feel, and what makes it work so well is the instant feedback it gives back. You can kinda just feel when you’re not using the right angle or amount of pressure. My end shaves aren’t quite as close as what I got from the GC .84 or stainless steel Lupos .72 and .95, but it was still an excellent shave nonetheless. More importantly I got absolutely zero post shave irritation. Shave experience was also more enjoyable than its stainless steel cousins; each time I found myself grinning throughout the shave as the Lupo Aluminum just flicked the hairs off my head.
Aesthetically very beautiful and elegant the Razorock Lupo is a splendid razor that I love for its lightness and efficiency. It is my favorite razor for deep shaves without irritation.
This is a first rate razor, giving a very smooth shave.
I bought this razor strictly for its light weight for use on bicycle touring trips where I’m carrying all my camping gear on my bike and I count grams to keep weight down. Upon receiving it I started shaving with it at home to test it out. Well here I am two weeks later and I’m still shaving with it every day because I like it so much. What a great razor. I own four other top-rated razors but this has quickly become my favorite. Last year I purchased another aluminum razor for the same reason - the Henson - but I strongly dislike the suction it creates and always felt I had to be very careful shaving with it, like I could easily nick myself. The Lupo has none of those problems. Highly recommend.
